Stopped by Gravel & Gold. Hands down my favorite store in SF. The shop dude, Dustin was super sweet and helpful. Of course a little drop in turned into "I have to look at every single item" experience. If I did not have to meet up with M at Dolores Park I would have stayed even longer!
Hung out with my hubby in the Mission. When we met up I did not recognize him at first (bad wife). I guess that is what happens when we do not see each other for a week (he did give himself a haircut!)
Tartine was busy as usual. We took our food loot to go. I had the banana cream tarte...yum!
Repeat offender. I had to pick up another SFS piece at Gravel & Gold. This time I got the top.

Have a beautiful weekend!

I had a great time chatting and hanging out with Renee today. Not only does she have one of the best edited shops around, but she has a great sense of humor! I love that we both wore our No.6 clogs. The shoes had a  little reunion of their own : )

Visiting my mom for a week. So far we celebrated O's B-day on Saturday and we have spent a lot of time at the beach. It will be hard to leave.

Farewell Cy Twombly

Untitled, 2001

I was saddened to hear of Cy Twombly's passing yesterday. He has been a favorite artist of mine ever since I picked up a discarded library book of his work when I was 14 years old.

The image above is of one of my favorite sculptures by Cy Twombly.
It is from the book Cy Twombly: New Sculptures 1992-2005.

Alone Time

It has been a few weeks since I had a day to myself, O is with her Grandmother for a few days and my husband is teaching summer school. So I took my sweet time reading my favorite blogs in the morning, went to a cafe senza child...so relaxing! The best part of my day was visiting a few thrift + consignment stores. I found a summery skirt with the cutest print (the fabric was made in Germany), and it probably was from the 80's. I also found a small dream catcher...had the worst dream last night. I hope it works! I could not resist buying the Russian Babushkas. And probably my favorite find is the vintage paperback of Anne Frank's The Diary of a Young Girl- with the 1959 George Stevens movie tie-in. The cover of the book features actress Millie Perkins who played Anne Frank.
