Good Reads

These adorable box clutch books are comparable to the price of a first edition but they are a novelty item for sure. I have been a fan of Olympia Le-Tan's work for quite some time now. I first discovered her work at a small boutique in Paris, of course her bags are way out of my price range but one can dream.

Whiskey River ...don't run dry

This past weekend I had the joyous opportunity to see Willie Nelson perform live at The Fillmore for his "Whiskey River" tour. It was a great concert, and his voice was effortlessly beautiful.  After the concert I was quick to do two things: 1. buy a tshirt and 2. have myself a nice glass of whiskey. Now, I don't drink whiskey very often, but when I do, it's Sazerac Rye Whiskey. I like to keep my glass of whiskey slightly chilled with "soapstone ice cubes" I picked up at Biodivino wine boutique in SF. The soapstones are reusable and are excellent for keeping your cocktail (or wine) chilled without watering it down. Did you know Rye was the original whiskey for a Manhattan? But of course, I had mine straight up -on the rocks that is!

Busy Bee

I have a lot going this week so my good friend Sholeh will be guest blogging. She is a Bay Area artist and has the most enviable style. One can only dream of having her closet!

Emma Cassi

I received a beautiful pair of lace earrings for Christmas and have been wearing them everyday. Anthropologie  has a small collection of Emma Cassi's work. I looked her up and her blog is full of beautiful photos of her delicate lace and bead work.

Miss Stubbs

I finally watched An Education during the weekend and I definitely recommend it if you have not watched it. My favorite character was Miss Stubbs played by Olivia Williams. I have not seen such a compelling performance in while. I also think Miss Stubbs had the best style with her quirky glasses and cozy cardigans, not to mention her quaint bohemian apartment.

The Cat's Meow

On my New Year Want list. The perfect cat eye sunglasses by Cutler and Gross.

Hello New Year!

Christmas and New year's came and went like a blur...I am just settling back at home. My to-do list is a mile long and I just finished unpacking. Thankfully, Olive did not get a pile of new toys this year so unpacking was not that much of a pain. She mostly received lovely books and clothing.
I am coming down from a major holiday sugar high! I had the best homemade Italian cookies at a family friend's wedding and I made five batches of sugar cookies, which disappeared within a few hours at my family's annual Christmas Eve party. And during my time at home my sister made some awesome chocolate espresso cookies, homemade jam, and a constant supply of her delicious fudge. I hope everyone had a wonderful and sugar induced holiday.

Meow...Slurp!

I am feeling a little more myself today and managed to make a delicious cappuccino. All thanks to a generous friend who picked up a bag of Intelligentsia's Black Cat espresso for me. Yum!
